I’m in Johannesburg and popped in to the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation named after that gargantuan anti-apartheid activist, Robben Island began and friend of Nelson Mandela. While there I had a chat with another ex-Robben Island political prisoner, who welcomed news of the Hamas-Fatah reconciliation.
Laloo Isu Chiba, a board member of the Foundation, said the Palestinians must learn to forgive each other before they can move forward and went on to tip Palestinian political prisoner Marwan Barghouti as a man to watch. He also likened him to the late, great Nelson Mandela describing him as Palestine’s version of Madhiba … and let’s face it, he would know!
Every now and again when I go through Twitter Land I come across something which leaves me breathless for all the wrong reasons. Here is an example of what I mean … or is this acceptable behaviour in Donald Trump’s America?
