Daily Star Sport – ‘Gone in 40 Seconds’
The back page of the Daily Star reports it wasn’t just a ‘minute of madness’ for Fulham, apparently the red cards for manager Marco Silva, Willian and Aleksandar Mitrovic all came in a 40-second span which put an end to their FA Cup hopes for this season.
Star Sport says Aleksandar Mitrovic deserves a 10-game ban for shoving referee Chris Kavanagh, according to former official Mark Halsey.
The Fulham striker was shown a straight red card during his side’s FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Manchester United on Sunday after pushing Kavanagh’s arm during a heated confrontation. Mitrovic’s dismissal came after a VAR review had seen United handed a penalty and Willian sent off for handball, with manager Marco Silva also shown a red card.
Former Premier League referee Halsey has now called for Mitrovic to be slapped with a lengthy suspension for his antics and believes a 10-match ban would be fair.
