The economy grew in Galicia 2.9% in the fourth quarter of 2024 in relation to the same period of the previous year, as can be seen from the quarterly accounting information regarding this period, published this Friday by the Galician Institute of Statistical (IGE).
Regarding intertramestral evolution, from September to December 2024, autonomic GDP increased 0.8%, while the year closed with a 2.8%growth. From or point of view, the gross capital formation increased by 3.8% and exports of goods and services have an interannual rate of 3.7%.
Regarding imports, 1.7%rise, at the same time that domestic demand and final consumption expenditure that reaches 1.4%grows. With regard to supply, construction increased by 6.0%; The primary sector 1.8%and services 3.7%, with a greater increase in the trade, transport and hospitality section (5.8%).
In addition, the IGE quarterly accounting data show that employment- media in terms of full-time equivalent jobs- also increased in the fourth quarter 1.0%, which represents an increase of 10,577 positions with respect to the same quarter of the previous year.
Sectors
Due to branches of activity, employment increased 1.4% in the services sector and 1.0% in construction, while in the industry there is an increase of 0.9% and in the primary sector a 3.3% decrease.
