US investigates Delta over plane stuck on tarmac in extreme heat A plane, with passengers on board, which sat on the tarmac for at least three hours in extreme heat, is facing an investigation. The US Department of Transportation is investigating Delta Air Lines over reports the passengers were forced to remain on the plane during the extreme conditions. US confirms its cluster bombs are in use in Ukraine The US has confirmed its controversial cluster bombs are being used by Ukraine against Russian forces in the country. John Kirby, US National Security Spokesman, said initial feedback suggested that they were being used “effectively” on Russian defensive positions and operations. Cluster bombs are banned by more than 100 states due to the threat to civilians – the bombs scatter multiple bomblets. The US agreed to supply them to Ukraine. Mallory Beach’s family settles for $15m over Murdaugh boat crash The family of disgraced US lawyer Alex Murdaugh have reached a settlement with the relatives of a young woman who died in a boat crash. Mallory Beach, who was 19, died after the boat she was in hit a bridge support. Officials believe the boat was being driven by Alex Murdaugh’s drunk son Paul, at the time of the February 2019 crash.
