Taliban kill IS leader behind Kabul airport bombing US officials have confirmed the mastermind behind the August 2021 bombing at Kabul airport has been killed by the Taliban. The deadly attack killed 170 civilians and 13 US soldiers as troops attempted to evacuate Afghanistan after 20 years in the country. CNN anchor furious after being fired from show CNN co-host Don Lemon has been fired following accusations of misogyny and misbehaviour, according to reports. Lemon was dismissed from the network after he made remarks about Republican Nikki Haley not being “in her prime” earlier this year, which were widely condemned as sexist. Andrew Lester, accused of shooting black teen Ralph Yarl, turns himself in Andrew Lester, 84, from Missouri has turned himself in to the police after shooting a 16-year-old boy who mistakenly rang his doorbell. He Andrew Lester was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action but has not been charged with a hate crime, despite a “racial component” being identified by prosecutors.  The white homeowner shot Ralph Yarl, a black teenager, once in the head and once in the arm last Thursday night in Kansas City. Fox News settles Dominion defamation case for $787.5m Fox News has settled a defamation lawsuit with Dominion, a voting machine company, over its reporting of the 2020 presidential election.  In a last-minute settlement, Fox News agreed to pay $787.5m – about half of the $1.6bn initially sought by Dominion. The lawsuit argued that Fox News had sullied Dominion’s reputation by airing falsehoods about the 2020 vote being stolen from former President Trump.
