Evacuations as new blazes break out in Greece New wildfires have broke out leading to evacuation orders for areas close to two central Greek cities. Those in areas around Volos and Lamia have been told to move to safety as the country remains in the grip of a severe heatwave. Wildfires are continuing to sweep the islands of Rhodes, Corfu and Evia. So far, more than 40 people have died in Greece due to the wildfires. Singapore to execute woman on drugs charge for the first time in 20 years A Singaporean woman is set to be executed after she was found guilty of trafficking 30g of heroin in 2018. Saridewi Djamani, 45, will be the first woman executed in almost 20 years, according to human rights advocates. Singapore has some of the toughest anti-drug laws, Djamani’s execution will come just three days after fellow Singaporean Mohd Aziz bin Hussain was executed on drug offences. Firefighters in Greece continue to battle blazes on popular tourist islands. The effort continuing a week blazes first erupted on the mainland. Temperatures in the country are expected to come down from tomorrow, but strong winds continue to pose a problem. It’s been more than seven years since Belgium’s worst ever peacetime attack. In March of 2016 an islamic state terror cell carried out twin bombings at the Brussels airport alongside a third on the Metro. A court Tuesday convicted six men of murder and two others of terrorism charges, including French citizen Salah Abdeslam and Belgian-Moroccan Mohamed Abrini – both already sentenced to life in jail by France for the Paris attacks in 2015.
