US ice hockey player Adam Johnson dies after neck cut American ice hockey player Adam Johnson, who was playing with the UK ice hockey team Nottingham Panthers, has died after suffering a cut to his neck from a skate during Saturday’s Challenge Cup match. The game against the Sheffield Steelers was stopped in the 35th minute as Johnson, 29, received emergency treatment on the ice.
