Chris Kaba family views police body-cam footage
The family of Chris Kaba has viewed the body-worn police camera footage of the moments leading up to his death.
Kaba, 24, was an unarmed black man killed by the Met Police in south London. He was shot dead by an armed officer following a car pursuit that ended in Streatham on 5 September.
His mother told the BBC it had been āvery hardā to watch the footage. The family have also met with the Met Policeās Commissioner after viewing the footage.
Ms Nkama said her heart was āalready brokenā but now she wants ājustice.ā “I want the truth,” she said. “The truth. That’s what I want for Chris,” she said of her son, who had been an expectant father.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has begun a homicide investigation into the shooting.
Chris Kabaās cousin Jefferson Bosela repeated the comments that the family wants ājusticeā but said they would be taking a āstep backā after some initial campaigning.
