Donald Trump has won the US election – becoming the 47th President. He will be sworn in as president after an inauguration on Monday, 20 January 2025.
Trump has also won the popular vote and the Republican party have taken control of the Senate and the House.


‘Unprecedented and powerful mandate
In his victory speech Trump said “America has given us an unprecedented and powerful mandate” and that God saved him “for a reason” – to save America.
Trump says he’ll bring “every ounce of spirit and fight” to the White House, and that being president is the “most important job in the world”. He adds that he’ll run his government on the motto: “Promises made, promises kept.”
