Five people charged over Matthew Perry’s death after ketamine drug overdose
Five people have been charged in connection with actor Matthew Perry‘s death from an accidental ketamine overdose last October, United States Attorney Martin Estrada told a press briefing.
The Friends actor, 54, was found dead in a hot tub at his California home in October 2023. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office attributed the actor’s death to the acute effects of ketamine.
The charges come after the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) announced in May that they were working with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Perry’s death.
Taylor Swift ‘reaches out privately to Southport massacre victims families’
Taylor Swift is believed to have reached out to the victims’ families of the Southport attack.
The singer made her first UK Eras Tour appearance since the horrific death of three children in Southport. Six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, and nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar all tragically lost their life when they were attacked as they attended a Taylor Swift-themed dance and yoga event. Eight more children were left injured and two adults also suffered critical injuries during the attack, which was described as “ferocious”.
As she performed for her fans at Wembley Stadium, London, it has been reported the singer has privately reached out to the families affected by the Southport attack. The BBC have reported Taylor opted to get in touch with the families privately.

An emotional Ian Wright fought back tears as he opened up on the double tragedy that saw him lose his brother and best friend.
The Arsenal legend’s brother, Nicky, and close friend and former team-mate Kevin Campbell both died in the space of a few weeks over the summer. Campbell, who had notable stints at Arsenal, Everton and Nottingham Forest, passed away at the age of 54 in June due to multi-organ failure caused by a heart infection, having spent a month in hospital prior to his death.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Overlap, Wright also revealed that his brother passed away around the same time.
