Macron ‘most convincing’ in final debate
French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron was more impressive than rival Marine Le Pen in Wednesday evening’s final TV debate, a viewers’ poll says. The French broadcaster BFMTV found voters had a more favourable view of Mr Macron than Ms Le Pen in most categories. He was the “most convincing” of the pair in the opinion of 63% of viewers.

Voters set to head to the polls as Local Elections take place today
Voters are set to go to the polls for local and mayoral elections in England, Wales and Scotland. A total of 4,851 council seats are up for grabs in 88 councils – all of those in Scotland and Wales, plus 34 in England, including 27 counties. Six new “metro mayors” will be elected, covering areas including Greater Manchester, the West Midlands and the West of England. Polling stations will open at 07:00 and close at 22:00 BST. DOnt forget to vote.
For the first time voters in Greater Manchester, the Liverpool City region, the West Midlands, Tees Valley, the West of England, and Cambridge and Peterborough will elect new “metro mayors”, covering combined local authority areas.

The Prime Minister spoke outside Downing Street to charge top EU figures with making threats, “deliberately” attempting to swing the 8 June vote and trying to torpedo negotiations.

The House of Representatives will vote on Donald Trump’s revised healthcare bill on Thursday, Republican leaders have announced, suggesting they that have secured enough support for it to pass.
The US leader, who repeatedly promised to repeal and replace Obamacare during his presidential campaign, suffered a major setback after a vote on an earlier version of the American Health Care Act was dramatically cancelled at the last minute when it failed to gain enough support from members of his own party.
