Meghan Markle the former suits star, and Prince Harry are expecting their first child in spring of next year.
Kensington Palace said the couple were “delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public”.
The news was broken to the Royal family on Friday when members of the Royal Family gathered in Windsor for Princess Eugenie’s wedding.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex is thought to be about 12 weeks pregnant and their child will be seventh in line to the throne.
Their baby will be a first cousin of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – but will not be a prince or princess themselves unless the Queen steps in ahead of the birth.
Congratulations have poured in for the couple from around the world.
The announcement comes five months after Meghan wed Prince Harry in a ceremony at Windsor Castle.
