Danny Miller thinks Matt Hancock will be battling more than just creepy crawlies and an uncomfortable bed during his I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! experience.
The former Health Secretary has sparked fury with his decision to head to the jungle as a sitting MP, particularly after he broke his own social distancing guidelines during the pandemic and got caught on CCTV kissing aide Gina Coladangelo.
Now, Emmerdale star Danny – who became King of the Castle last year when he won the series in North Wales after the reality show was forced to find a new home due to the health crisis – has predicted viewers wanting revenge on the politician.
Appearing on Friday’s episode of Good Morning Britain, he said: ‘I think he needs to just accept the fact that he is going to be everyone’s toy.’
He suggested that no matter how Hancock comes across on screen, the public will want to give him a tough time as the show returns to its usual jungle camp in Australia.
He added: ‘This year, I think regardless of how entertaining is, he needs to accept that – what he’s put us through, the public are gonna say, “This is what we’re gonna put you through”. And then when they’re done with him, they’ll just get rid of him.’

It’s clear Danny isn’t picking Hancock to succeed him as the I’m A Celebrity winner, but he does have an idea of the top three out of the campmates already announced for the new series, which starts this weekend.
He said: ‘I’d like to think Sue Cleaver, Boy George, Jill Scott – they’re my pick for the final three.’
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old actor admitted while he’s ‘a little bit’ jealous of this year’s contestants, a lot of those feelings come from wishing he could have another go because he struggled when he got back into the real world.

‘It took me a few months to be able to go, “Oh, I wish I could’ve done it again”, because I hated the feeling after it. Being completely isolated to being then, right, here’s a load of responsibilities, here’s your phone back,’ he explained.
‘I really struggled with it. It was hard to just go – you didn’t have to worry about anything because you didn’t have any phones, you had no stresses, no worries, no anxieties.
‘Suddenly you’re put out, someone goes, “Well done for winning, there’s your phone back.” ‘
Even now, Danny has plenty of unanswered – and even unread – text messages after he found the post-I’m A Celebrity experience an ‘overwhelming’ one to deal with.
He said: ‘There’s still messages I haven’t read, but it was just so – all my mates texting, that I haven’t spoke to for years. It was quite overwhelming. It took me quite a while to want to go back in again.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV. I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! launches on Sunday at 9pm on, also on ITV.
