The State invested in the Community of Madrid in the first half of 2024 a total of 694.3 million, compared to 456.6 million destined for Catalonia, which represents 52% more.
This is recorded in a report of the General Intervention of the State Administration (IGAE) corresponding to the first semester of 2024 that TV3 and Catalunya Ràdio have advanced.
Not being able to approve budgets by 2024, the State worked last year with the exchanged accounts of 2023, so if that volume of investment executed with the initial budget is compared with the initial budget by 2023 this would be equivalent to a theoretical execution of 20%, in the case of Catalonia, and of 57% in the case of the Community of Madrid.
Always according to this data from the IGAE, the Community of Madrid stood at the head of resources executed in the first half of 2024, while Andalusia took second place, with 524.5 million, and Catalonia occupied third place, although in percentage of execution the Balearic community stood in the first place, with 94.28%, followed by La Rioja, with 62.4% and Madrid, in third place.
The analysis includes both the real investments made by the Public Business Sector of the State and by the Administrative Public Sector and by the General State Administration, among others.
The IGAE report details, for example, that Renfe-Operador invested in Catalonia in the first half of 2024 a total of 34.79 million euros and that Adif executed 181 million investment, while Adif-High Speed invested another 77.66 million.
As for the ENAIRE group, it executed investments for 27.2 million in the first half of the year in Catalonia.
For some time, some Catalan parties, including ERC and Junts, denounce that the Government refuses to publicly provide periodic data for the execution of the State’s investments in Catalonia, so the data released today are the result of a request for transparency requested to the Registry of the Congress of Deputies.
