WTX News has learned that the Russians were warned prior to the attack happening in the early hours of this morning.
The US has carried out a missile attack against an air base in Syria in response to a suspected chemical weapons attack on a rebel-held town.
A chemical attack on Tuesday left 80 civilians dead, amongst which were 20 children.
Fifty-nine Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired from two US Navy ships in the Mediterranean, the Pentagon said.
President Donald Trump said they hit a base from which the Syrian government launched Tuesday’s chemical attack.
The Kremlin, which backs the Syrian government, has condemned the US strike.
The British government has backed the US-led bombings and is supporting the intervention.
World news organisations are delivering varied reports, naturally, most state-led media outlets are supporting this attack and some viral footage on the ground shows the attacks happening live. Iranian-based Press TV is providing an alternate theory and suggests the attacks are a step towards an invasion of Syria, by a US and Isreali coalition.
